Versa Slate Introduction

Versa Slate is a revolutionary braille slate that enables you to write and read on the same handy slate without paper.
This mechanical braille system does not contain any electrical components so it can work underwater.
Versa Slate is so practical, durable, and portable that it can change the way of learning and using braille in many applications.

Appearance

It is in rectangular bar-shape and made with soft feel and non-slip plastic material.

Pastel Blue Body with White Stylus Attached to the Corner
The corners are rounded, with no sharp edges.
There is a handle with an elongated round hole on the right side.
An ergonomically designed magnetic stylus is attached to the bottom right corner, making it easy to detach for quick action.
It is equipped with a magnetic plate on the back side that attaches to metal surfaces, such as a refrigerator.

Versa Slate Weighs Only 136 Grams.
The dimension is 19 centimeters in width by 7.8 centimeters in height.
The thickness is 1.5 centimeters.
The front is the writing mode, with a total of 80 standard cells,
20 columns and 4 rows.

How to use

Writing
Remove the stylus from the corner and place the slate horizontally in front of you.
Make sure the handle is on the right side. This is the frontal and writing side.
There are the location markings placed.
Two lines between the 1st and 2nd row, 3rd and 4th row, and dots in the middle of the lines.
One dot between the 5th and 6th column, two dots between 10th and 11th, and the
last one dot between 15th and 16th column.
Now you can start brailing from the upper right corner just like the conventional braille.

Reading & Correction

Once finished writing, flip over to the opposite side. The handle should be on your left.
This is the reading side.
There are two methods of erasing.
For a quick correction of a typo, you can gently press the cell with your fingertip.
The dots will retract with a satisfying click feel.
The other method is using the erase buttons. This will allow you to erase each section at a time.
There are 4 pairs of white buttons above and below the cells.
These are the erase buttons. Each pair, top and bottom, engage 5 columns.
Since there are 20 columns, 4 pairs are placed to engage all 20.
You can erase 5 columns at a time by pressing the top and bottom simultaneously.
The middle portion is the reading section.
The standard braille cells are very precise and crisp.
The crisp braille dots are very easy to read even for beginners.

Cases

There are 3 types of cases available:
Single, Dual, and Triplet.
The cases are made with high-grade synthetic leather and magnets are installed for easy attachment.
You can combine up to 3 Versa Slates for longer writing by using the dual & triplet cases.
They protect not only the device but also the writing against accidental bumping in case you need to save them for later.

Mini Slate

Mini Slate is a true handy memo taker. It is only in the size of a business card that easily slips into a pocket.
It consists of 24 cells, 12 columns and 2 rows.
The slip-on stylus is attached to the upper right corner.
On the reading side, there 2 pairs of erase buttons on top and bottom.
It works with the same principle as Versa Slate.

Next is Flowy which is an all-in-one video magnifier & screen-reader software for PC and mobile phone. For the person who is new to FLOWY, you may learn from this vedio introduction of FLOWY.

Welcome again and you in the exhibition hall.
